This body scrubbing mitt is handmade using ancestral techniques from a type of agave plant fiber by a co-op of indigenous Otomi artisans in Mexico.

The Otomi people have been using the bountiful and sustainable, native Maguey agave plants and fibers for generations.   Weaved scrubbing cloths like this mitt are called "ayate" cloths.

Unlike other agave based fibers like sisal, ayate is naturally mildew resistant.   This fiber's hydrophilic nature brings moisture into the skin and exceptional skin softening qualities while exfoliating at the same time.

Great for full body exfoliation and softening.
